I
sit alone and watch the rain
As crystal shards slide down the pane,
And
on the street the passers by
Stride
with purpose swiftly by.
I
wonder if they see the spots,
Or
hear the rhythm of the drops,
As
night embraces one and all,
And
on the pavement droplets fall.
Tears
of joy, the tears of pain
Fall
so gently in the rain
And
wash away the sins of time,
And
some are yours and some are mine.
The
pavement of our lives lies wet.
It
glistened then and glistens yet.
