Woman at the Door

A large and stately woman approached the door alone.
She said no words to me, but chatted on her phone.
I stood up from my table and grasped the handle of the door
“Let me,” I said, but she stood fast, continued to ignore.
“I’ve opened many doors,” she growled, “every where I went,
And have no need of foolish men with chauvinist intent.”
“It’s just politeness,” I intoned, “I beg your pardon then.”
“Just step aside you stupid cur, oh how I hate you men.”
I stepped aside as she went through, but dropped her phone, alas.
I bothered not to stop the door that slapped her on the ass.
